I hadn't heard of that concept until hearing FT mention it. But
evidently, there is some precedent. And there's a "Jubilee" movement to
get Africa's debts forgiven.
So as the mortgage industry is beginning to fall down around our ears
(bad choice of place for us to stand, I say!) due to the "Sub-Prime"
scams and suchlike, perhaps it's time to talk about scrapping the whole
debtload ONE TIME ONLY (for this quarter-century, at least.)
After all, if all those financial institutions are about to tank ANYWAY,
why not make it a FUN moment?
(And no, I don't have a mortgage.)
