some old posts mentioning original relational/sql implementation,
System/R
http://www.garlic.com/~lynn/subtopic.html#systemr
System/R technology transfer was to endicott for sql/ds ... a few yrs
ago, one of the people on the endicott end of the technology transfer
had his 30yr cor****ate anniversary and I was asked to contribute. I put

this old post mentioning some people at a meeting in Ellison's
conference room
http://www.garlic.com/~lynn/95.html#13http://www.garlic.com/~lynn/96.html#15
I've periodically mentioned that two of the people in the meeting show
up in a small client/server startup responsible for something called
the commerce server. we were called in to consult because they wanted
to do payment transactions on the server. They had this technology
called SSL they wanted to use and the result is now frequently referred
to as electronic commerce ... some references
http://www.garlic.com/~lynn/subnetwork.html#payment
one of the other people (mentioned in the same meeting) claimed to
have handled most of the technology transfer from Endicott to STL
for DB2.
