Some term it "emerging intellect"

Those of us blessed with hirsute maternal grandparents tend to be 
somewhat meaner and mention bowling balls, queue balls, etc.

It was passed as the honest truth that military males who stayed in the 
service until retirement would always lose their hair more rapidly than 
the norm...allegedly the military hat requirement would somehow back the 
follicles.
