I'm glad to hear it. When people willingly pay the same or more money
for worse and fewer services, they are emboldening other companies to
do the same. In general, people will get the worst service they're
willing to put up with. People should be more willing to vote with
their feet.

No. Since disk space, CPU power, and bandwidth cost less than ever
before, and are more reliable than ever before, Usenet is easier and
less expensive to provide than ever before. As long as anyone is
interested in using it, some ISPs will provide it.

I certainly do, and that's my biggest concern. If Usenet is made
harder to find, requiring obscure or third-party ISPs, it will get
fewer and fewer new users, and will eventually die out, though not
until the children of today are our age or older.
