I wish. It would be much easier for me. The problem is that once a
person has recorded their words in any media, they hold a copyright.
Since my book will soon be a commercial work, fair use might not
apply. One lawyer who replied to my request for permission to use his
work indicated it was fair use. His is a well-known name on Usenet
and has often been invoked here. I tend to accept his evaluation, but
it's better to be safe than sorry.
So, I can probably use all of the remaining material for which I do
not have permission without obtaining permission. In fact, two
lawyers wrote that I did not need to have their permission, but
provided it anyway. However, I prefer to take the high road on this.
