If you use the search function on this site:

It will show you a list of broadband (Cable and ADSL) providers that 
service your area as well as reviews and comments about each of them.  I 
personally like the small independent providers as they are much more 
responsive to the needs of their customers.  I've been with sonic.net 
for several years and have been thorough satisfied with them, before I 
had PacBell which became SBC which is now AT&T.  They were terrible.
