Excusing wrong information on grounds of literary licence
doesn't work unless that wrong information is somehow
required as an essential part of the story.
It would have been a lot better if the author had put even
a little extra effort into the details:
- It wasn't 2000 years, but well over 3000 years ago.
- The correct reference is Numbers 22.
- The event took place hundreds of years before David was born.
- There is no Book of David in the Bible.
